This Policy outlines the information we collect from you — and what we do with it.

At Mobius Renewable Energy, your privacy is extremely important to us. These are the fundamental principles that we follow in relation to your personal information:

  • As a Subscriber, Contributor or Member your data is inherently yours, and it is our job to keep it safe. We never market to your customers or share your data without implicit consent (not assumed by this policy).
  • As a customer (if you purchase a product or service directly on this Website, or any other web platform operated by MobiuSolar Corporation), your Credit Card or Debit Card information is not stored anywhere on our systems. Your personal information is protected, and is only made available to the Online Payment Service (PayPal, Stripe, etc.) system that is processing the transaction.
  • We safeguard all data collected with industry standard security practices and encryption.

This is the Privacy Policy of the Mobius Renewable Energy (MobiusRE) website (the “Site”), operated by MobiuSolar Corporation (together with our affiliates and subsidiaries, “MobiusRE”, “we”, “us”, “our” and terms of similar meaning) and our related products and services. It describes the information that we collect from you as part of the normal operation of our Site, and how we use and disclose this information.

By accepting the Privacy Policy in registering as a Member, or by visiting and using the Site, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.

In this Privacy Policy, we use the following terms to describe different types of visitors to our Site. Our Members are segmented into and described as one of a “Project Investor”, “Project Seller”, “Project Intermediary”, “Service Provider” or “GPO Member”. We use the word “staff” to describe persons to whom we give MobiusRE-staff-access on the Site. Together with registered users of our Forums or other interactive areas of the Site, these people are collectively described in this Privacy Policy as “Users” of our Site or “You”.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information in the file we maintain about you, and other information we obtain from your current and past activities on the Site, to provide to you the Services offered by the Site; to resolve any service issues; to troubleshoot problems; to process Project or Service information requests or updates; to match Members to available business opportunities; to measure consumer interest in our Products and Services; to inform you about online and offline offers, products, services, events and updates; to deliver information to you that is relevant to your interests, such as product news; to customize your experience; to detect and protect against errors, fraud and other criminal activity; to enforce our Terms of Use; to provide you with system or administrative messages; and as otherwise described to you at the time of information collection.

On occasion we may use email address, or other contact information, to contact our Members to ask them for their input on our Services, to forward to them relevant business opportunities, or to advise them of relevant special, or time-sensitive, events or promotions available from us or other Members.

We may also use personal information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze Site usage, to improve our content and product offerings, and to customize the Site’s content, layout, and services. These uses improve the Site and better tailor it to meet your needs, so as to provide you with a smooth, efficient, safe and customized experience while using the Site.

If you wish to subscribe to any of our Bulletins or Newsletters, we will use your name and email address to send the Bulletin or Newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe in the email. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Mobiusre.com does not collect any personally identifiable information about you when you visit the Website, unless you voluntarily provide this information, for example by contacting us through any of our email forms (including sending us queries or responding through the Website to our job postings). Personal information collected in these cases may include your name, contact details, email address, telephone number and your resume.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact and Registration Forms

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information from you is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. This allows us to provide Products, Services and Features that most closely match your needs, and to customize our service to make your experience safer and easier. We only collect personal information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this purpose.

In general, you can browse the Site without telling us who you are, or revealing any personal information about yourself. Once you apply to become a Member, we require you to provide various contact and identity information, certain information about your business, and other personal information as indicated on the relevant Registration Forms on the Site (which vary, depending on what kind of Member you are), and then you are no longer anonymous to us. Where possible, on these forms we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional.

In addition, as you use the Site, you can from time to time enter or send to us personal information. For example, if you are a Member, you can setup or edit your profile. As you use the Site you can also from time to time enter personal information about Third Parties. For example, if you are a Member, or a content Contributor, you may enter personal information about your Clients, Customers, Suppliers, or your staff.

You always have the option to not provide information by choosing not to become a Member, or by not using the particular feature of the Site for which the information is being collected or displayed.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

We share your personal information with Third Parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to Third Parties. The following describes some of the ways that your information may be disclosed in the normal scope of business in order to provide our services:

Members

Project Investors

Certain authorized MobiusRE Staff have full access to personal information collected at time of Registration, and from subsequent queries and communications, and this information is used internally to categorize the Member’s interests and scope of business activities, among other internal activities designed to improve the Member’s experience in using the Site.  In matching a Member’s interests to a Project opportunity, and in order to elicit interest from a Project Seller, we may convey non-identifying information intended to convey the Member’s overall interests, experience and capabilities (including the Member’s MobiusRE Certification Level).  Specific identifying information will not be conveyed to Project Sellers, or any other Party, without the express consent of the Member, and in accordance with our Terms of Service (including the Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention provisions therein).

Project Sellers

Certain authorized MobiusRE Staff have full access to personal information collected at time of Registration, and from subsequent queries and communications, and this information is used internally to categorize the Member’s scope of business activities and its Project offerings, among other internal activities designed to improve the Member’s experience in using the Site.  In matching a Member’s Project offerings to a Project Investor, and in order to elicit interest from qualfied Project Investors, we will convey “Executive Summary” information to a limited number of relevant and qualified Project Investors (including the Member’s MobiusRE Certification Level).  The Executive Summaries to be used by MobiusRE, for any given Project, will be approved for use by the Member in advance of their publication.  Additional specific information (including any identifying information which has been excluded from the Executive Summaries at the direction of the Member) will not be conveyed to Project Investors, or any other Party, without the express consent of the Member, and in accordance with our Terms of Service (including the Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention provisions therein).

Project Intermediaries

Certain authorized MobiusRE Staff have full access to personal information collected at time of Registration, and from subsequent queries and communications, and this information is used internally to categorize the Member’s scope of business activities, the nature of its business relationships with Project Investors and/or Project Sellers, among other internal activities designed to improve the Member’s experience in using the Site.  When it has been established that a Project Investor or a Project Seller (as the case may be) is interested in engaging in discussions related to a Project that the Member is representing, we will convey general identifying information to the interested Party (including the Member’s MobiusRE Certification Level) in order to facilitate the communications required to initiate the Project exploration/review process.  Additional specific information about the Member, or its Clients, will not be conveyed to Project Investors, Project Sellers, or any other Party, without the express consent of the Member, and in accordance with our Terms of Service (including the Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention provisions therein).

Service Providers

Certain authorized MobiusRE Staff have full access to personal information collected at time of Registration, and from subsequent queries and communications, and this information is used internally to categorize the Member’s scope of business activities, the types of Services offered by the Member, among other internal activities designed to improve the Member’s experience in using the Site.  When one or more of the Member’s Services have been approved as an offering to other MobiusRE Members, certain information about the Member, its business and its Services will be published in the Site.  In general, this information will include authorized textual and graphical descriptions of the approved Service(s), promotional language and images related to the Service(s), special Terms or Pricing the Member is offering to other MobiusRE Members, as well as links to, and other contact information for, the Member.  Any additional information about the Member, and about any MobiusRE Member who may wish to engage in a transaction for the Member’s Service(s), as might be needed for any potential Service transaction, will be exchanged directly between the Member and its prospective (MobiusRE Member) Client.  In the event of a Service transaction being consummated between the Member and another MobiusRE Member, the Member will convey certain summary information about the transaction to us, which information will be held in confidence and only used for internal purposes (including for the calculation of Referral or other Fees due from the Member). Information about the Member, or its Service programs, will not be conveyed to other MobiusRE Members, Project Sellers, or any other Party, without the express consent of the Member, and in accordance with our Terms of Service (including the Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention provisions therein).

GPO Members

Certain authorized MobiusRE Staff have full access to personal information collected at time of Registration, and from subsequent queries and communications, and this information is used internally to categorize the Member’s scope of business activities, the types of Products and Services most applicable to its normal business operations, among other internal activities designed to improve the Member’s experience in using the Site.  When the Member has been approved as an active MobiusRE Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Member, certain summary information about the Member (including Company name, GPO Member Number, the Member’s MobiusRE Certification Level, contact information, applicable product and service categories, etc.) will be made available to relevant MobiusRE Suppliers and Service Providers.  Additional specific information about the Member, its Clients/Customers, its Projects, or its procurement requirements will not be conveyed to MobiusRE Suppliers and Service Providers, or any other Party, without the express consent of the Member, and in accordance with our Terms of Service (including the Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention provisions therein).

Payment Information

We use Credit Card and other personal information (such as PayPal email addresses) you submit to us on the Site, and other information that we collect, as required, to process payments you make through the Site through our online payment processor intermediaries. We do not store credit card or other payment method information; in all cases our payment processors have the sole and complete responsibility for the storage of credit card and payment information. We may also share personal information with our online payment processor intermediaries for risk management and fraud prevention.

We may provide Members’ IP addresses to online payment service intermediaries in the course of payment processes.

Anonymized Aggregated Data

We aggregate and anonymize transaction information including (but not limited to) transaction type, size, Country or Regional location, method of acquisition or purchase, transaction amounts and average transactions per Member, and disclose such information in a non-personally identifiable manner to existing and prospective Service Providers and Suppliers. In these situations, we do not disclose any information that could be used to identify you personally.

Site Forums

If you post on a Site Forum, or Blog, your username and other information you include is displayed in your postings or comments, and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities in the public areas of the forum will be identifiable to your User ID, and other people can see your published content. If you disclose personal information in any posting on a Site Forum, or Blog, and wish to have it removed, please contact us via the support contact information posted on the Site.

Subsidiaries and Affiliates; Service Providers

We may from time to time use the services of affiliates, subsidiaries and unrelated service providers in the operation of the Site, and may transfer personal information to them in the course of our use of their services. For example, we may use a third-party to operate our support services, including telephone answering and message handling. This may involve the hosting of data, including personal information, on servers operated by those service providers. We take care to use only service providers that we believe are reputable and able to live up to our and your expectations, including the handling of confidential information. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

Personal information may be maintained and processed by our affiliates, subsidiaries and unrelated service providers in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. When personal information is in another jurisdiction for processing it may be accessed by the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities in accordance with the laws of that jurisdiction. Legal Requests and Business Transitions

MobiusRE may disclose your personal information (a) to any governmental authority as part of an investigation to determine our compliance with any applicable law, rule, or regulation (including privacy laws, rules, and regulations), (b) in response to a Court Order, Subpoena, Discovery Request, or other lawful judicial or administrative proceeding, (c) as otherwise required under any applicable law, rule, or regulation, (d) in good faith, to protect or defend the rights or property of MobiusRE and other users and (e) if MobiusRe is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Your Use of Other Persons’ Information

In order to facilitate the services provided by the Site, the Site allows you in certain circumstances to give other Users limited access to the personal information of other persons. For example, if you are a Project Intermediary, you may use the Site to give access to a staff member to the personal information of your Clients. By entering into our Terms of Service, you agree that, with respect to the personal information of other persons that you collect, use and disclose on the Site, you have all necessary consents and rights to collect, use and disclose that information as described in this Privacy Policy from time to time, and you agree that the indemnity you give to us in the Terms of Service applies to any non-compliance by you with the foregoing.

If you choose to refer us to a friend, colleague, business associate, or other contact, you will provide us with that person or entity’s name, email address or other contact information. We may subsequently contact that individual or company via email, or by other means, inviting them to visit the Site or to speak with us. MobiusRE will store this information for the sole purpose of attempting this communication, and any subsequent follow ups. The referred person or entity is free to contact us at info@mobiusre.com to request that we remove their information from our databases.

Security

MobiusRE strives to protect your personal information. We have implemented reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information in our custody and control from unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. For example, for security of transactions, we use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts any information, such as Credit Card number and billing information, you send to us electronically. The encryption process protects your information, by scrambling it before it is sent to us from your computer. Once MobiusRE receives your transmission, we make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our system. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. Other Information Collectors

Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect. To the extent that you disclose your information to other Parties through the Site, whether they are Members, Clients, Customers, or otherwise, different rules may apply to the use, collection and disclosure of the personal information you disclose to them. Since we do not control the information use, collection or disclosure policies of third parties, you are subject to their privacy policies. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.

Spam Detection

Visitor comments, or contact form submissions, may be checked through a Third Party automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data

For Users that elect to Register as Members on our Website, we store the personal information they provide on the Registration Form, for an indefinite period, in their user profile. All Members can see, edit, or delete, their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you leave a comment on a Site Forum or Blog, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have a Membership account on this Site, or have left comments, you can request to receive a file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
